Overview

The Research Fellow at the DaVinciAT Research Center of Alfaisal University will lead research in Cyber-Physical Systems and Non-Humanoid Social Robotics, enhancing research on human-robot interactions. This role involves advanced R&D, contributing to projects and initiating new research, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team on groundbreaking experiments.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducts cutting-edge research in Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) and Non-Humanoid Social Robotics (NHSR) by developing and implementing novel designs and methodologies.
  • Develops new designs, methodologies and technologies to improve human-centered CPS/NHSR systems’ performance and interaction.
  • Develops new methodologies and technologies to boost system performance and enhance user interaction. This includes designing systems and implementing innovative solutions to optimize efficiency and streamline user experience.
  • Works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to design and execute innovative experiments to involve contributing expertise while learning from diverse team members to conduct rigorous research.
  • Disseminates research by publishing findings in high-impact journals and presenting at international conferences.
  • Empowers junior team members through mentorship and actively contributes to securing research funding by participating in grant writing efforts.
  • Advances the development of cyber-physical systems and non-humanoid social robotics by designing, building, and evaluating innovative technologies to includes translating conceptual designs into tangible prototypes and analyzing their interaction capabilities and performance metrics to validate and refine theoretical models.
  • Organizes and meticulously analyzes research data from experiments in cyber-physical systems and non-humanoid social robotics, extracting pivotal insights then compiled and presented in a clear, compelling format to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders and the scientific community.
  • Assists with procuring additional laboratory supplies.
  • Assists with the implementation of university policies and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties in a professional, effective, and confidential manner.
  • Performs all other related duties as required or assigned by manager.

Education & Experience

  • Ph.D. in Architectural Robotics, Design, interactive/CPS systems, Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, ai, machine learning, computational design, or related field from an accredited institute.
  • Minimum of two years experience in research or related fields, with two to three published journal articles.
