The Research Fellow will be responsible for leading and conducting independent research within the Department of Chemistry. The employee will work on cutting-edge projects in organic materials chemistry, focusing on the synthesis, characterization, and application of advanced materials for optical and electronic devices. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops experimental and testing organic functional materials for solar energy, sensor, and battery applications.
- Investigates optical, spectroscopic, electrochemical, and thermal and photophysical properties of conjugated oligomers and polymers
- Designs and optimizes experimental protocols, ensuring rigorous methodology and adherence to best practices in laboratory safety and research ethics.
- Contributes to projects related to collaborations on sustainability and batteries is a desirable skill for the position.
- Develop new designs, methodologies and technologies in the laboratory and help introduce new experiments for the teaching organic laboratory based on contemporary materials research
- Works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to design and execute innovative experiments
- Disseminates research by publishing findings in high-impact journals and presenting at international conferences.
- Empower junior team members mostly undergraduate research students through mentorship and actively contribute to securing research funding by participating in grant writing efforts.
- Organizes and meticulously analyzes research data from experiments.
- Assists with procuring additional laboratory supplies.
- Assists with the implementation of university policies and procedures.
- Disseminates research by publishing findings in high-impact journals and presenting them at international conferences.
- keeps up to date with the latest developments in the field of chemistry and incorporate new techniques and technologies into research projects.
- Performs literature surveys on assigned topics and analyzes research data from experiments.
- Ensures research activities comply with ethical standards and institutional guidelines.

Qualifications And Competencies
Education/ Certificates
- PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field from an accredited institute.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience in research or related fields, with two to three published journal articles.
