Job Summary

The Graduate Programs Supervisor is responsible for helping the dean or his designate, the faculty and graduate students to deal with all administrative and many of the academic matters of the graduate programs (currently limited to the MBA program). Understands the curriculum and requirements of the MBA degree, its potential revisions; and the various concentrations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participates in updating the website and catalog of the MBA program; their attractiveness and effectiveness.
  • Develops the required information, including the appropriate ads, to be disseminated to potential students, and answer inquiries about the MBA program and its curriculum, admission rules, and process.
  • Understands the AU Graduate School rules and processes concerning admission, probation, dismissal, appeals, graduation, and MOHE scholarships.
  • Works with the Office of the Graduate School at AU to inspect and complete the application files and advance them to the college admission committee for processing.
  • Plans and prepare orientation programs and related material for the MBA students.
  • Advises students with respect to their respective study plans, degree requirements and check, questions, and assists students to keep student electronic academic record and study plans accurate and updated.
  • Participates in course scheduling and its revisions, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Participates in the management of the out of class activities such as guest speakers, field trips, career workshops, professional societies and activities, scholarships.
  • Gathers data such as (course syllabi, office hours, courses enrollment, GPAs, working experience, English scores, probations, dismissals, complaints, …), and assists in the analysis of the information, projections, and reporting.
  • Supports the CoB faculty MBA Committee, help develop its agenda, and keep its minutes.
  • Participates in self-studies and bench marking of the program; the accreditation process by NCAAA and AACSB, and in strategic planning for graduate programs.
  • Engages in a development program that involves the attendance of at least one conference per year related to the function of the job of MBA Program supervisor and its students to ensure it included in the budget of the program.
  • Implements a quality assurance program to collect and analyze MBA students’ feedback and observations and use them to revise the learning objectives, quality of instructions, performance of the faculty, Survey of the MBA graduates on their learning experiences and recommendations for improvements.
  • Participates in the development of future revisions, specializations and special projects and potential Ph. D. programs.
  • Works with the campus Alumni Office to create and update a database for the MBA graduates (alumni) to engage the alumni by developing activities such as a semester or annual newsletter; alumni annual picnic; invitation to some of the current MBA seminars; invite some of them to speak in MBA class/es, orientations; and recruitment of students.
  • Works well with other Alfaisal University functions/departments like IT, Facility, and Finance.
  • Performs all duties in a professional, effective, and confidential manner.
  • Performs all other related duties as required or assigned by the Vice Dean and the Dean.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in, Business Administration or equivalent from accredited institute. A master’s degree in Business Administration is preferable.
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in university environment or related fields for a bachelor’s degree, or four (04) years’ experience for a master’s degree.
