Overview

Job Summary

The Technology Transfer Supervisor is responsible for managing external projects and ensuring compliance with financial, legal, and commercial regulations related to technology and intellectual property. The supervisor also facilitates the transfer of research innovations and technologies from academic and research institutions to commercial applications. Additionally, review proposals from external organizations, coordinate with the relevant colleges, and monitor the progress of all projects to ensure that due dates and external regulations are met.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establishes and manages the TTO’s operational workflows such as analyze and assess research projects and technologies for commercial potential.
  • Conducts market research to identify trends and opportunities for technology commercialization.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with industry partners, venture capitalists, and entrepreneurs.
  • Facilitates partnerships between researchers and external organizations to promote technology transfer.
  • Provides guidance and support to researchers on technology transfer processes, including patent applications and licensing agreements.
  • Organizes workshops and seminars to educate faculty and staff on commercialization strategies.
  • Oversees technology transfer projects from inception to commercialization, ensuring timelines and goals are met to monitor progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Prepares reports on technology transfer activities and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Processes payments of supplier invoices according to the University’s financial rules in collaboration with Finance and Accounting department to maintain proficient operational excellence.
  • Coordinates and handles all financial matters of the external projects according to the funder’s regulations.
  • Facilitates help to students who like to conduct research with outside institutions.
  • Performs all duties in a professional, competent, and confidential manner.
  • Performs all other related duties as required or assigned by the manager.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Managements, Project Management or equivalent from an accredited institute.
  • Certification as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) by the Project Management institute or equivalent (Desirable).
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience working in research and analysis technology transfer or related fields
