Communication and Fundraiser Position for the Corporate Governance Center (NAC)#040618

Alfaisal University (AU) is a young and fast growing university located in the capital city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was founded in 2008 as a private not for profit research oriented university, where English is the official language of instructions. It consists of five colleges: Business, Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Sciences. College of Business (CoB) offers a B.S. degree in Business Administration with five concentrations (Accounting, Finance, HRM, Marketing, and Operations & Project Management), and an MBA degree with three tracks (General, Finance and Healthcare Management) along with an active Executive Education program with strong connection to government agencies, businesses, and industry. CoB subscribes to Thomson-Reuters research database and provides strong support for research.


Corporate Governance Center (CGC) was established in June 2017 within the College of Business at Alfaisal University to evaluate Saudi businesses in terms of their corporate governance practices and engage in research and training activities to promote good corporate governance. The CGC has developed Saudi Corporate Governance Index in collaboration with consultants from Harvard University and Kobirate. In 2018, the CGC evaluated all Saudi companies listed in Tadawul based on the principles of good governance. The outcome of CG evaluation has been shared with companies through an annual conference for two years in a row.

The CGC is looking for a communication and fundraising supervisor/manager/director to promote the activities and services of the center to the business community. The center is expected to expand its evaluation, research, and training activities to the family owned business and some governmental agencies in the Kingdom and publicly traded companies in the GCC. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and self-motivated person to play a pivotal role in the growth of the CGC. The director is expected to develop a marketing plan to promote key functions of the CGC including reaching out companies for customized report on corporate governance, organizing workshops and training activities, finding sponsors for the expansion of CGC services to family owned business and other GCC countries. The director will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of fundraising and sponsorship activities for the services provided by the CGC.

The candidate for the position is expected to a graduate or undergraduate degree in business (preferably in finance or accounting); have 3-5 years of relevant experience with proven leadership and excellent written and oral communication skills. To promote the services of CGC, the candidate should be savvy in using the social media, and networking with other organizations dealing with CG such as Board of Directors Institute and others, and attend CG related conferences and events. The position could be a part-time or full-time basis. The director will receive an attractive commission in addition to a base salary.
